The Cwm Uchaf Bunkhouse is situated at the edge of the village of Crai within the Brecon Beacons National Park, with the surrounding area holding some of the most breathtaking scenery anywhere in the UK.
The nearest village is Sennybridge which has a limited but adequate selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. The Brecon Beacons offers some of the widest range of outdoor activities anywhere in Wales.
Days out on the Beacons can range from a gentle hill walk, graceful paragliding to the adrenalin rush of downhill mountain biking. The area is also very popular with cavers, anglers and canoeists.
The Bunkhouse is family run, an integral part of the old farmhouse, situated at Crai on the A4067 Swansea to Brecon road, three miles south of Defynnog.
There are ten bunk beds in the sleeping area with a separate dining room/kitchen area. The accommodation is self catering and is fully equipped with electric cooker, fridge, TV, and a whole range of cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. The bunkhouse is centrally heated and has a phone installed with calls charged at domestic rates as there is no mobile signal in the area. Extra toilets, and hot showers are located in the house.

Extra accommodation of two twin bedrooms and a double bedroom are available within the house ans a cot and high chair can be supplied on request. Please note that if you are staying in the dormitory bunkhouse you will need to bring sleeping bags. We only actually supply bunks and mattresses, although a limited supply of duvets and sleeping bags can be hired at an extra cost if requested in advance.
